Why You Should Visit
- Convenience: It’s a one-stop shop for groceries, hardware, lumber, propane, and even camper supplies. This is incredibly handy if you’re in a pinch or don’t want to travel far—especially if your cabin is nearby like mine, roughly 35 minutes away. I used it to quickly grab forgotten groceries including produce, kosher salt and even found a hard to find guava drink!
- Well-Stocked: You’ll find a wide selection of hardware, paint, tools, and lumber. The grocery section carries essentials, and even some more specialized items. There’s even a decent meat selection although Polish sausage seems popular. I grabbed everything I needed for a week at the cabin.
- Helpful Staff: I’ve experienced exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff. They went above and beyond by checking lumber stock before my arrival and helping with loading. In multiple visits, I’ve consistently encountered pleasant staff who provide assistance.
- Competitive Pricing (for location): While it’s acknowledged to be expensive compared to larger grocery stores, the pricing is considered reasonable given the location’s remoteness and convenience. The firewood deals, for example, were great. Plus, the grocery section is ample.
- Family-Owned & Operated: Supporting local businesses is always a plus. You can find pretty much everything here from tools to camper parts.
Why You Might Consider Alternatives
- Price Point: Be aware that prices are higher than at larger grocery chains. This is a trade-off for the convenience. It is described as “spendy” and “overpriced” in some accounts.
- Staff Interactions: While many shoppers have reported positive experiences, some have described staff as not always congenial, or even rude and unkind on occasion. This seems inconsistent, however; other shoppers report overwhelmingly friendly service.
- Limited Hours: The store closes relatively early; extended evening hours would be beneficial to some. Check hours before you travel.
