- Extensive Product Selection: You’ll find an incredibly wide variety of supplies. I’ve personally seen farm, plumbing, electrical, and seasonal items in stock. They even carry Super 33 electrical tape and cactus potting soil, which other stores I’ve visited didn’t have.
- In-Stock Items: The store generally has items readily available. I was able to easily locate what I needed on my last visit and checkout was quick.
- Convenient Services: The location offers mower servicing. They also seem willing to hold items for you for a day, if requested.
- Generally Friendly and Helpful Staff: While some experiences have been negative (see below), many shoppers report a positive experience with staff who are friendly, accommodating, and efficient. One cashier even went out of their way to help me locate an item that wasn’t easily visible.
Why You Might Consider Alternatives
- Inconsistent Customer Service: Be aware that the level of customer service can vary dramatically. While some employees are incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly, others have been described as unhelpful, dismissive, and even rude. One instance involved an employee blatantly ignoring a customer at the paint counter, leading to an unexpected and expensive paint purchase.
- Limited Saturday Availability: I found out the hard way that equipment rentals are not available on Saturdays, which was disappointing given that’s when I often need to rent equipment. This could be a major drawback for some.
- Price Discrepancies: I’ve experienced instances where the price listed on an item doesn’t match the price charged at checkout. Double-check your receipt before leaving.
- Return Policy Issues: Returning a defective item can be a challenge. My attempt to return a defective fertilizer and spreader was met with refusal and a raised voice from an employee. This is a significant concern.
- Communication Challenges: Reaching the manager by phone has proven to be difficult; multiple calls ended in disconnections. This made following up on orders challenging.
