Lowe’s Shopping Guide: An Informed Visitor’s Perspective
Why You Should Visit
- Extensive Product Selection: You’ll find a wide range of products, from kitchen and laundry appliances to lawn mower blades, cinder blocks, paint, mailboxes, garden hoses, and even bricks and sand for small projects. Appliances are also available for online order and in-store pickup.
- Helpful and Knowledgeable Staff (In Some Cases): I’ve had excellent experiences with specific employees. Derek, for example, went above and beyond, staying late to assist me and even loading my purchases into my vehicle. Similarly, Kim Garner has received high praise for his helpfulness and attention to customer needs, safely retrieving high-up items and accommodating early openings. Jack Martin, the paint supervisor, along with Tataris and Chris, also impressed other shoppers with their exceptional service. Michael Halter has a solid reputation for expertise on a broad range of products from appliances and flooring to paints. These employees demonstrate the high standard of service that is possible at this Lowe’s location.
Why You Might Consider Alternatives
- Inconsistent Staff Knowledge and Availability: Be aware that locating specific items can be challenging. On multiple occasions, staff members were unable to direct me to the correct location for tools and building materials. Additionally, I experienced significant wait times in an aisle for assistance and was ignored on multiple attempts to seek help. Long wait times at the paint desk and garden center have been reported by other shoppers due to staffing issues.
- Potential for Order Errors and Poor Customer Service: One shopper reported a significant discrepancy in their online appliance order ($2700 charged as $5000), with unhelpful responses from staff regarding resolution. Another shopper experienced a similarly troubling experience with their online water heater order. In another instance, the staff’s response to an in-store paint purchase was unprofessional and lacking basic courtesy. Further, a large online order containing a refrigerator, resulted in significant damage to both the appliance and the customer’s property. This coupled with an unsuccessful attempt to reach someone at the store to address the issue should raise concerns.
- Delivery Issues: Be prepared for potential delivery problems. I encountered significant delays in the delivery of bricks and sand and a lack of communication regarding the order status, despite confirming the need for same-day delivery. There have been instances of cancelled orders without notification and issues with obtaining payment for deliveries.
- Pricing Discrepancies: I observed one instance where a customer found the same items at a much cheaper price at Home Depot.
- Product Accessibility Issues: Be aware that some items, such as bird seed, may be out of reach for customers and that obtaining assistance to reach such items may require significant waiting times. Store merchandise may also be mislabeled and misplaced in general.
